Professionalism Tips From our Recruiters

Being “professional” can mean different things for different people and in different situations, but it’s important to know what it means for you when applying and interviewing for a job. Recruiters are definitely paying attention to a candidate’s level of professionalism, so you want to ensure that you show your best side. Baton Rouge General’s recruiters weigh in on some ways to make a lasting – and professional -- impression:

  • Use an email that sounds professional and includes some or part of your name to communicate with recruiters.
  • Be sure your social media presence is a positive representation of you.
  • It’s okay to consider multiple offers but communicate this to the recruiter/interviewer so they are aware.
  • Keep an open line of communication with the recruiters after interviews and offers. Make sure you have a copy of your offer letter, employee health appointment/pre-hire information, and next steps about orientation.
  • Don’t hesitate to ask questions!
