    Bio

    Dr. Phillip V. McAllister completed his internship in 1989 and his residency
    in Neurological Surgery in 1994 at West Virginia University in Morgantown,
    West Virginia. He then went on to complete a joint Orthopedic and Neurosurgery
    fellowship in spine at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
    Upon completion, Dr. McAllister served as the Director of Spine Surgery
    at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. McAllister has a strong
    professional interest in complex spine surgery that includes ankylosing
    spondylitis, fractures, scoliosis and tumors. He also performs the more
    well recognized spine surgeries including microdisectomy and microlaminectomies
    for a herniated disc. He is the only neurosurgeon in the area that has
    completed a joint Orthopedic & neurosurgical fellowship in Reconstructive
    Spinal Surgery and is board certified by the American Board of Neurological
    Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr.
    McAllister holds memberships in several professional societies, including
    the Congress of Neurosurgery, American Academy of Neurological Surgeons,
    the North American Spine Society, and the Joint Section of Spine and Peripheral
    Nerves. In addition to complex spine, Dr. McAllister performs brain operations
    including those needed to treat head trauma and brain tumors. He also
    performs surgery on the peripheral nervous system including carpal tunnel
    release and ulnar decompression and transpositions.

    This doctor is probably the best doctor I've ever seen as far as knowledge and what he can do for me and the way he explained everything. I'll go back. I would highly recommend it to anybody and very good person at the front desk treated me well. I mean no complaints there.

    Was very pleased overall with the appointment especially with Dr McAllister. He did a thorough clinical exam, asked me many questions about my issue and did not ever seemed rushed. He spent 20-30 minutes just reviewing images and impressions from previous images. He was very confident in his diagnosis and I already think I can trust him with the surgery I need On the other hand, the person that took my medical history I was disappointed with. She asked me several times how to spell different words and was n

    Everything was fine, Dr. McAllister did surgery on my husband and myself and we were both very satisfied and recommended a lot of patients to him. He is very knowledgeable and smart and to the point, we really love him.

    Dr Mcallister and the staff were very respectful and punctual. They listened to my symptoms and spent time explaining to me what we need to do moving forward and made me feel at ease thru this trying time.
