New Class of Rad Techs Graduate

BATON ROUGE, La. – Ten students recently graduated from Baton Rouge General’s School of Radiologic Technology (SORT), joining the hundreds of radiologic technologists who have completed BRG’s program since 1985. Radiologic technologists work in a wide variety of fields and are cross-trained in advanced technologies like CT, MRI, mammography, and heart catheterization and intervention.

During the December 1 pinning ceremony, the graduates received their diplomas after completing the two-year professional program in radiography in more than 17 clinical education settings and five areas of clinical specialty in addition to traditional radiography rotations.

After receiving their diplomas, graduates took the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) exam, with a 100% pass rate. BRG’s SORT graduates have exceeded the national average for pass rates, with a 92% average first time pass rate over the past 5 years, and has achieved a 100% rate 5 of the last 8 years.

The 2023 class has also received state-level awards at both the 2022 and 2023 Louisiana Society of Radiologic Technologists (LSRT) Annual Meeting, including top 3 placements among student submissions.
